Three students in the American Studies Program at Eötvös Loránd University (ELTE) in Budapest won praise and Certificates of Appreciation from Ambassador Foley for the "American Evenings" program they conducted April 9-11, 2008.
The students, Ágnes Bazsika, Kriszta Pozsonyi, and Viktória Zoltán, called upon speakers from U.S. Embassy, visiting Fulbright professors, and the Education USA advisor to provide their fellow students with up-to-date information on applying to U.S. universities. That they conducted the entire program of lectures and presentations themselves, with advice but minimum material and financial support from the Public Affairs Section, brought them to the notice of Ambassador Foley. In presenting the three with an Ambassador’s Certificate of Appreciation, the Ambassador congratulated them on their initiative and organizational skill and thanked them for helping to advance the Embassy’s goal of building mutual understanding and strengthening the ties of friendship between the U.S. and Hungary.
